Some woman called and asked if I knew our controllers extension. I said,
"Sure, I can transfer you over there."
"No, can I HAVE his extension, so I don't have to wait to be transferred?" BIG red flag, as anyone who knows his, has gotten his business card, which has his extension on it.
"No, I cannot give that information to solicitors"
"But you can transfer me? What the [***] ever."
I disconnected the call.
Woman named Gail called asking for our CEO by name, I asked if he knew why she was calling and she said "if he has a good memory" (red flag #1), then I asked what the call was regarding, "a financial matter" (red flag #2) and then whilst coaxing more detail out of her (after getting details ask a questions regarding the information they just gave you, this usually trips them up because they can't remember the fib and they end up divulging more of the truth) she said it was in regards to a possible mutual connection with (this is where they usual mumble or slur a name) "Common Cecil?" And then she threw in that this was "time sensitive"... which usually makes people hustle but for me this is just (red flag #3).. because quite frankly, the only person this is "time sensitive" to is you, I don't care, the only time I care about is my CEO's and not wasting it. So I basically talked her into telling me that she really had no legitimate reason for calling and bugging my CEO which leads us to her number now being in my special spreadsheet of numbers not to put through to anyone. Not only do I have her companies phone number but I always try and get their direct line as well.

Ugh, as of September she is calling for our CFO now... Lol. It's just not happening sweetheart. Just today she called again, I picked up ready to say my usual company spiel but I could hear her talking in the background to a co-worker making fun of my CFO's name... then I said our company thing without missing a beat and she flipped to Mrs. Uber Professional... paaaaaalleeasse, Like I'm going to let you through now after such blatant disrespect. She just called for the 2nd time today and I've got to say, she's just never going to get through to him. She can leave vm after vm but he'll never call her back. If she calls again I won't even give her the benefit of a voicemail. She is just calling to harass, we've already told her no the first time so she calls for someone else? No thanks.
