Received a call from a man (who did not sound like he was stateside) claiming to be from the Windows technical department asking about my computer. I do not use Windows, this is total scam and I hung up.

This was Joel calling from Dallas, TX, calling about my Windows computer having technical issues at the "server level". I run my own IT and all looks good on my end. Scammers trying to trick people that something is wrong with their connection. If these people can give the actual company name they work for, it's a SCAM.
