He called when I was at work. My answering machine picked up the call. Even then, he didn't answer right away, evidently not hearing the answering machine directions. Heard him connect with his phone, "Hi, this is Mark Campbell, how are you today?"......"Hello, are you there?"....... uh, no. This is a machine.
Wanted Donations...not Local...I heard other telemarketers talking in background
I asked them what % do they give to the Charity...funny thing they hung up on me.
I will give no $ to any Charity prior to Researching & Checking them out. I have decided to give to local beneficiaries personally so they get 100%.
We are a small Community and mamy funds never get back to our County (usually everywhere else).
The Local VFW has been the collection point for several needy and in some cases they have found matching $...I now prefer THIS. Also Locally we have several personal people that have devoted their Retirement time to spearheading help to specific needy people and or organizations (At 100% and sometimes 100% Plus).
With all the Charities in the news lately of World Organizations taking large amounts of money and only 10% - 12% gong to help a needy cause and the majority lining their deep pockets...I am sickened. They all should be ashamed, closed down, or prosecuted. But that will never happen. Remember if you contribute to them knowing their practices...YOU ARE JUST AS GUILTY. If they have no contributors they will be forced to shut down or change the Organization Name and continue anyways. Research & Check Out before you contribute.
