Total scam. Claims to be calling from United 1st Responders Charity which gives money to buy equipment to needy firefighter units. When I asked him where they were located he said Riverside California, I then asked why he was calling from an Ohio area code and he hung up. Called back number says nothing about a charity. I hate scam artists. I really hate scam artists who use 9/11 as a way to scam good people out of money.
I just received a call from this number and got the same story as above - United 1st Responders Charity to buy equipment for firefighter units. I had noted the area code (Castalia, OH) when I picked up and questioned where the donations are going since they were calling from outside my area. When I asked his response was "uh-huh"...we were still connected so I followed up with another question, then he hung up on me.
I tried calling back 4 times after i missed the first call. It said that "this offices representatives are unavailable or you're calling after hours. Please try again later or press 1 to save your caller ID in our log for later when one of our representatives are available." and the lady's voice was so slow and scary. I felt like my heart had been jolted in fear. Never have i ever felt that scared in my life.
