Sent me a text message saying i had won a $1000 WALMART gift card. at the end of the message it said to reply the word STOP and no other messages would be sent. oh how much of a fool i am. apparently replying to the text messages tells the company that your number is active, and they proceed to sell your number to other companies. since i replied stop that day, i am getting multiple calls and texts a day from all kinds of companies offering 'free' items. i am going to have to change my cell number now. bottom line. if you get a text message from any number offering free items, and then it says to reply STOP, DO NOT REPLY. replying only tells them that you are a person with an active cell phone who can text message, and they will sell your number to other scam companies. BE WARNED! do not make the mistake i did by replying.
