Caller claimed to be a paid caller for Fraternal Order of Police. What was most disturbing about the call was that it was suggested that since "they" still have the information from a check I'd sent before, that they could use that to withdraw the funds and just send me a receipt. HUH?!!!!! I told the man, NO NO NO a few times. He finally stopped talking long enough to hear me and said that was fine, that they'd send the appeal to my home. That was a week ago, I've yet to see anything from them and seriously doubt that I will. Wouldn't be surprised to find this is a scam. (Note": it's been awhile since I sent any money to any such organization because I learned that some of them were frauds).
I got a call this morning and as soon as I picked up they hung up. I called the number back and it did have a recording in a females voice that it was the Fraternal Order Of Police. I had donated to them in the past so it could be them. The recording has you press 1 to be added to their DO NOT CALL LIST so I just pressed . They said it could take up to 30 days but that is normal.
