Got a call from "Alvin Smith" and he said that my computer had been taken over by key logging malware that recorded all of my keystrokes. He said he was from "Windows Technical Support" and they knew that my computer was infected because they matched it to the CLSID number, whatever that is. I hung up. I think that all computer manufacturers and all software development companies (starting with Microsoft) and all retailers that sell computers should warn all customers of this scam, which has gone on for several years now.
Call from man with heavy Indian accent telling me my computer had a terrible virus and he was calling from something like "Tech America" to fix it. Very insistent that I let him take over my computer. Obviously a scam, as I have had these guys call before, saying they were from "Microsoft Windows Help Desk" (no such thing). I let him go on for a couple minutes, but lost my patience and asked him how he lives with himself stealing from innocent people. He said he lives quite comfortably. I told him he was a Dishonorable Thief stealing from innocent Americans while he tried to talk over me. He finally hung up.
