I got a text message from this same number saying "hey Duncan." at 4:20 PM creepy seeing as this message is from tennessee and I know no one from there...
I got a text from this number at 4:05 pm PST saying "hola Bekah!" Apparently this number is a landline from Blountville, TN. I don't know anyone from there. I wrote back asking who it was, but haven't heard back. I guess I probably won't.
Other posters say they have had success in forwarding these illegal texts to 7726. They are picked up by your cell phone carrier who will ask you to send them the phone number so they can investigate and have spam filters installed to block the texts. Security company Cloudmark created a spam messaging reporting service that nation’s major wireless carriers agreed earlier this year to start using. Now, customers of AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint and others can forward their text spam message to 7726. The mobile phone carrier will ask customers for the phone number that’s linked to the spam message so they and Cloudmark can start investigating.
I got a "hi Ashley" from this number. When I texted back asking who it was I got a message that said "Ohh no... my Iphone's going to die ;(" I have an iPhone and that message wasn't sent through iMessage so I don't think it's coming from an iPhone. It's a little scary that whoever or whatever this is knows my name...
i go the same thing from this number i got Hey! Heather i replyed who is this and they said Sorry...Mi fone's going to die!!! i said bk whatever then got a message bk ad me on Y! mesngr textflirter679 like what the f man who ever this is is creepy and needs to be stoped cus its not cool at all
