Sick of these calls
Sick of these scam calls.  Why can't Verizon put a stop or let me know how to put a stop to these unwanted calls?

"NOT IN USE"  I never answer. They never leave message.  "Do Not Call Registry", which I've had on both landlines & all cells, is virtually worthless.  If it has reduced the # of calls I MIGHT have gotten, of course I don't know that. BUT: I get multitudes of calls these days....everything from "YOU'VE won a cruise!!" to TONS of calls from supposedly Charitable Organizations.  I NEVER donate via a phone call.

Have heard that "charities" are exempt from "Do Not Call" parameters; haven't researched that in a long time.  But, still, plenty of calls for everything from siding to home alarms.

Just try to keep in mind, not having to slam a door, like Grandmother did.

Criminals, extortion scammers and illegal telemaggoters are not about to obey any law. And yes, they do enforce it. Only the honest business's are going to do what is right.  Charity, some survey and political are exempt - but even they can still get into trouble. They are supposed to maintain a internal DNC list and place you on it when asked.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Report your callers here, not just to the DNC alone:

https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.
