"Hi this is Alice from the warranty department. We sent you a final notice that your warranty is about to expire." This is a computer message that is triggered by the question, "can you hear me okay". No one is there just a female voice talking....I hung up. Doubt this is a telemarketer as no person was involved. Since caller ID stated the phone number as the caller, believe it probably was a scam.

Called, I answered and it did the say thing. "Can you hear me okay"... then went on about a trip to Orlando. When I interrupted to say something, the call was disconnected.
A recent news story described just such a call in which you would be asked "can you hear me ok?" Your response "yes" is recorded and inserted to contract text as your acceptance of a financial contract for services. Scam.
