A robocall from this El Segundo VOIP number was received today. When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller spewed forth with a pre-recorded message touting an electric energy savings program. Amazingly, the voice and the message were identical to a call received on January 20 from a Moorpark VOIP number, (805) 222-4634. Could this be the same robocaller now using a new number to cover his tracks? Or are there multiple robocallers running the same electric energy scam with the same recorded message? It seems the scam artists will go to great lengths in their search for victims.
DO NOT BECOME A VICTIM. DO NOT ANSWER CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER.
The cid showed "customer servic" (no e) and phone number 424-217-7870. Left the same recorded message I've heard several times before from several different phone numbers.
Smarmy female voice: “…current electricity bill informing you that you are now qualified under a recent bill passed in Congress called the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act permanently reducing your electric bill up to 60% through the US Renewable Energy...blah... blah... blah...
We have the ENTIRE 424 area code BLOCKED!
Even though these criminals have never called our home before, their call was blocked BEFORE they robodialed our number.
It's 2016 - time to purchase a blocking phone (Panasonic) or a blocking device (D*gitone). Check Amazon.
