Don't know what it is. A legitimate entity would mail correspondence not handle things over the phone. The number also had "7736930:4803768' in front of it. It could be an ID for a cust. sev. rep, or a spoof. Either way, my home number is on the Do Not Call List, and this call is un welcomed. I now will get a blocker that is sold through amazon.
Called today when I was out. 11:48 am.
My caller ID says 7745034:4803768. Nothing good comes from callers with this sort of crazy caller ID. I'll report it to No mo.
Caller didn't leave a message on my machine and the caller id said "Out of Area". So I ran 3 separate reverse traces and all were blocked for a person or business name, but 2 locations ( Avalon, CA and San Pedro, CA ) with 2 service providers ( XO Communications Inc.-CA and 360 Networks (USA) Inc.-CA ) were associated with this number. This is definitely a scammer. No legitimate business would ever hide their identity or location from the public. This caller is just phishing for personal information and probably running some sort of scam (i.e. Charity, energy renewal, veterans etc.). It seems that every call that has 424 area code is a scammer. Block this number and report to the proper authorities. DO NOT CALL BACK FOR ANY REASON.
