You're obviously answering in some way then, which is what you do NOT want to do at all. You can really laugh when they call you again only to get a ringing phone. Answering these calls in ANY manner boosts thieves' confidence that if they're able to scare you enough, they'll bilk you out of money. No answer at all erases any chance of that and frustrates them in the process.
