Got a text from this phone number with just a question mark. Feel like this is some type of marketing ploy or if you text them you'll be charged a million dollars or some [***].
Jamaica Scam. Asked me to get a money order at Walmart because I won a Mercedes Benz, gave me an 876 area code to call which is in Jamaica, if you call that number, you will get hefty fees. Known as the 876 scam.
Got a call from this number. When I answered, there was a recorded message saying "this is a private number. Do not give out your phone number or personal information." Similar to when a Lyft passenger calls me to confirm pickup. Then, there was some papers rustling and it disconnected. A few minutes later I got a text message saying they had a call from my number at 4:15 (it was only 3:30 my time) and they wanted to know if I was a Lyft Driver. I blocked the number and didn't respond.
Received this call at 28 minutes after midnight. It sounded like some sort of recorded message and I only got Probakeeping your code safe then it was silent and I heard some sort of rustling noise in the background. Basically, i would have thought that it was some type of robo call, but after that message ended you could still tell that someone was on the line and moving about. No legitimate caller would call at 12:28 AM. Whether the call was recorded or made to sound like it was recorded the voice was clearly that of a white male.
