The only reason you're getting calls from this number is because you or a family member signed up online for a free book & guide from WDM, and the call is to allow you to receive your free book & guide. Sometimes other family members, such as a spouse, signs up and the person receiving the call doesn't know what it's about. And sometimes people fill in the wrong phone numbers on the submission form. But WDM NEVER makes unsolicited phone calls to anyone for any reason. You can also click a button when you get the call to opt out, or you can dial the caller ID number back and opt out on the greeting there.
I just received a call from this number. My caller ID identified the caller as VCM. They didn't leave a message. I called the number and it's for a company that I submitted an inquiry two some 14 days ago, requesting a copy of their FREE publication about how to keep government from confiscating your money. I've pressed "9" which removes me off their list. It seems that the offer may have been a come-on because I previously provided my telephone number, email and home address so there was no reason for them to call if the offer is legitimate.
FTC, FCC and CFPB don't care and are overwhelmed by the blatant disregard for the law. I have received letters from each of them essentially saying, they've given up on enforcement, the volume of complaints is too high and they are understaffed to make any headway. Yes, in a nutshell, that's what they each said. The solution is to use a quality call blocker, they will likely screen out calls you may want, but they all give the ability for the caller to leave a message. Important callers leave messages.
