They call 4 times a day. Obviously a scam. Decided to pick up the phone. He told me that he is from the IRS. I told him to suck the pus out of my hemorrhoids. He got nasty then. Said that he was coming over to put me in handcuffs. I told him, come on jack [***]. Then I blasted him with my boat blaster horn. Let's see if they call back or put me in handcuffs. [***]!
Got a call earlier today from +1 (425) 098-7442, I didn't answer and they did not leave a message. They called again about an hour later, but it was from an unknown number, so I answered (bc I'm in sales) and a man said something in another language, I asked him what he said and he said the same thing in a foreign language. I asked what I could help him with and he hung up on me.......3 hours later I got a call from +1 (425) 098-7442 AGAIN and answered it...a foreign (middle eastern) man asked for me by name (only my first)...I responded by saying "I'm sorry, but you have the wrong number". He said "this is not xyz?" I said "I'm sorry, it's not, you must have the wrong numbe". He apologized, thanked me & hung up.
This is the response I would recommend, if the number/person seems random or unusual. You can always loook it up!! Basically, if they can't validate your name (or whatever they ask for) then they assume rest of their info is incorrect. BUT, if you show any signs that you could be the person they're trying to contact (i.e. ask a question about who they are, where they're calling from or why) it's interpreted as confirmation that you are the person they just asked for.......
I say this because, let's be honest, why would "Susan" care who's calling "Mary" and why? She wouldn't!!! Only the person who's name/info match the callers inquiry would respond or initiate further convo.
I hope this helps...I've never been contacted a 2nd time after using this response:)
These clowns called me 8 times in one day about a week ago. Each time I answered, all there was, was silence, so I hung up, today the calls started again. This is really annoying, really.
