Got a call with same caller ID info. - Ingersoll Rand number 425-201-7423 stating he was from Capital Funding wanting to talk to the business owner. When told he wasn't here I asked if I could take a message and he asked if there was anyone else he could speak to about the finances. I told him me and the boss at which he stated he was from Capital Funding and I told him if he was from Capital Funding why did the name on the caller ID come up Ingersoll Rand who is one of our vendors. He acted like he didn't understand and asked again what name was on the caller ID and I told him. Instead of hanging up or making up some lame reason why the ID was reading as it was, he proceeded to try to get information from me and stated after he did that he'd transfer me to another department. I just hung up on him then I went to Ingersoll Rand's web page and sent a message to them stating that scammers were using their company name.
called and asked for a person in the company- I said he wasnt avail. -he then asked for the person in charge of financing- I asked what their name is and what this is in regards to- he said Alex- I said we have asked to please be taken off the list- he said fast and all run together thank you we will remove you from the list have a good day and hung up- I then hit redial and pushed 1 to speak with someone- when the sounded like computer person answered they said hello Will and the last name of the person they were originally calling for- I said I looked up the name on caller Id and see you are a scam is that true- the wierd thing is and you just have to hear it for your self that it does sound like a computer voice click on and he said thats a great question let me get some more information and give that to an underwritter- I said what do you need an under writter for you can answer that.. I said I want to keep you on the phone to trace the call- the voice kicked in again and said very fast we will take you off the list they hang up
Same thing with me today - The caller ID listed as Ingersoll-Rand - but as noted above it's NOT a legit call. HANG UP on them and do NOT provide any information.
