Received numerous calls from 425 247 0818 (Bellevue, Washington). Previously I had not picked up, but today I did. He stated he was a Senior IRS Officer and was calling to collect on Legal fees arising out of Tax Fraud and my failure to pay for the filing of an arrest warrant for my arrest.
He stated that the call was being recorded and asked me to verify my Tel # and address. He then asked me for my SSN# in order to track the complaint #. At this point I asked him for his name, address and Badge #. He has a strong Asian accent so his name was hard to understand. He gave me a badge # of 14065 and an address of 1111 Constitution Ave NW (Which is the IRS fraud office in DC), but I was still suspicious due to his Bellevue (WA) tel #.
I advised him that I would contact the IRS myself to verify any warrant filed against me and would get back to him if it was verified. He quickly got angry and told me that I can expect the police to come and arrest me later today.
FIVE messages today on my answering machine. Robot sounding woman's voice saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit and this is my final notice. To avoid prosecution I am to call 425-247-0818. Me? I'm waiting patiently for the lawsuit to begin........ Wondering how they got my number but, I've blocked that number - hopefully that's the end of THAT particular scam!
They don't have to get anyone's number actually.. just plumb numbers into a dialer or computer. Most of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan. Do google your name & phone number though, there are lots of places online such as Spokeo that post peoples info and in some cases, list relatives as well. Make them remove the info!

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
