this number called my husband and he messaged me and said that a company just called him about a person I used to know but he had no association with but somehow they said his number came up and said that they would take his number off the association with that person. I just do not get how they could have associated his number with someone that he didn't have an association too. I called the number back to find out who they were because they wouldn't tell my husband anything so they I told them that if they call my phone or my husbands phone again I will file a claim with the FTC. we will see if they stop or not

This is probably a "skip tracer" trying to locate the individual for debt collection. If your name came up associated with that person, they would then look for others associated with you such as your husband. They try calling anyone and everyone who might even remotely be associated with the person they are seeking. Just be glad they don't use "Six Degrees of Separation" when skip tracing.
