Politicians with or without a current job have no bearing on the flood of illegal sales calls from South Asia. The FTC and attorneys general do what they can, but they are perhaps a hundred people up against billions of automated fraud calls which are very difficult to trace to their sources. The failure is not with "gubment", but with everyone whining for a rescue when they have the TCPA to sue revealed offenders and call blockers for those which remain hidden.
