Ye old firefighter's scam. Asking for donations, just another scam type that we get periodically. In the past, these weasels have gotten pretty strange if you tell them that you need literature and background info on their organization. Got belligerent about about the need to proclaim donation levels also ... huh??? Way to many charity scam calls these days. Actual charity calls tend to be identified by caller ID, and are rather rare. We get all sorts of calls from "cancer" and my favorite scam "children's cancer".... not listing any particular organization. The caller for this scam was a "smooth" talker (and sounded more legit than the usual scammer).
They called us two days in a row! As soon as we picked up the phone, the guy started to read the script. It sounds like a scam for "burned children" benefit. The caller claimed himself calling from fire department association.
