This company is "Brand Rep". You can talk to a live person, who was very nice to me, at 800-405-7119. She said she would take us off the call list - we will see.
I asked her how she got my number and she said they purchased business numbers from Google. NICE, GOOGLE, THANKS~!
Yet another weasel spammer/scammer representing themselves (falsely) as Google. Recording says "Our records indicate your Google listing has not been verified. Press 1 to verify your company listing on Google." When you press 1 you get some schmuck selling "get top listing on Google, Bing, and other search engines". This is a despicable practice. I will not do business with someone that begins the relationship with a lie.
True.. no-call lists are a joke, unlisted numbers are ineffective when a war-dialer is in use and answering the phone only verifies that your number belongs to a live body.. which goes on another list that is sold to any scumbag telemarketer or scam artist that shells out money for it.
There is also a list of 'hostile" phone numbers (black list), for lack of a better term, that these losers stay away from. Numbers belonging to the average Joe that harass & abuse the calling party, lead them on and generally waste the telemarketers time. It's not hard a hard list to join. If you can't handle the dead end promises of the FCC, your phone provider's blocking tools or sites like this one (that really don't do anything more than provide a place to vent), then pick up the phone.. Play with the [***] pitching their wares.. lead them on, ask questions about the product like you just crawled out from under a rock. Play dumb, like you don't understand why round tires are better than square tires. Make them explain it over and over again. Keep it going for as long as you can.. Then give in and say you'll buy it. just as you are about to close the deal, back out and say you have don't have a credit card or that the prison you are in doesn't allow package deliveries. Make them feel like you wasted their time, but not on purpose. It works!
If not..go to your sporting goods store or boat shop, purchase one of those ear-shattering air-horns and give the caller a reason to never call back. What can they do about it? Call the Police? Can't prove nothing, even if it's recorded. Could have been lightning striking the network or any number of things. Godspeed-->
