Caller ID showed caller as Private. Left message claiming to be Mr. Peterson with PCH and them having urgent business with me. Left the number 425-358-6282 to call. Used calling card to call the number, which rang about 7 times and no one answered. Must have traced it because the person called back and I didn't answer. He/She hung up and called back but did not leave a message.
This number is connected with the Jamaican phone scams and has been extraordinarily persistent, calling the scammee, the scammee's children's home, even the scammee's son's office, as well as (we presume) sending people to the scamee's home with fake food deliveries. Serious bad actors!!
Someone at this number has "spoofed" the official printed-on-the-bills CenturyLink Customer Service official number, and left a message looking like it was linked to that number impersonating a family member of the scamees by first name. Through that and whatever other means, these people managed to change elders' phone number several times. When we caught on and started to interfere with their access, they started calling the phones of other family members.
