It is most surely an unsafe caller. I don't answer unknown callers either, but it follows the pattern set by other ne'er-do-wells that have called before. They call several times a day, usually at inconvenient times - early, late, etc, only ring 5 times to avoid the voicemail picking up and never leave a message. It is apparently some type of scam that requires actually talking to the "mark" as opposed to leaving a threatening message requiring you to return the call. Of course, you can't return the call because the number you see, if you see one, doesn't actually exist. It's been "spoofed". I've even gotten several calls that showed MY OWN caller ID information. Take heart, though, the prison cell that awaits these criminals is equipped with a phone that gives 5 rings once every minute 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and cannot be answered.
We have Vonage, Ooma and other VOIP operations to thank for this glorious new way to fleece the population anonymously. It's too bad that these same brains can't come up with a way to trace the calls and put a dent in their operations. The sad part is that they must be making a profit or they wouldn't keep at it. Their victims are usually the ones who can least afford to lose the money.
This number has been calling us at least three to four times a day oftentimes awakening us in the morning or calling after we have retired for the evening. We do not answer the phone when we do not recognize the number or it says unknown number, private, anonymous, etc. This is getting ridiculous. I have checked several sources and all sources I've checked lead us to believe that it is spam.

I have been receiving call after call after call from this number and when I answer it is usually a woman who sounds like she is from India and she always ask is this "------" and she has my correct name. When I answer yes she then tells me to hold on for a very important message. I usually hang up pretty soon after because I am always placed on hold. I am SO SICK OF THESE PEOPLE WHOEVER THEY ARE!
this calls a lot, not sure if it's the same number(each time) but says Bellevue WA on it, probably spoofed. I get other calls with Dayton OH or other cities that I doubt are for real. But was noticing this one has called every hour since this afternoon and it's now 7pm I looked it up (again) I now have a Panasonic phione with 250 number one button call block which I love, I have it set to not ring when a blocked number calls but have another phone without call block, that rings once though I could turn the ringer off that one... but that's how I know how much this one calls. . if it's just this number mainly calling most of the phone companies now have call block *60 (even the phones that run off the computer and cable) I used this for awhile but it only holds 12 or so numbers.
