SCAM, FRAUD!!! I work at the Federal Reserve Bank and this number is not the federal Reserve Bank's #. It is a Organized crime located in who knows where and please do not fall for this scam or any other scam of this sort. I get alot of calls from people who have had this scam happen to them. What happens is you will give a person you personal information, account #, Social, Name, Birthdate, Adress ( Do not do this because they are using fake name them self) They will promise to wire you money and what happens is either you can get in trouble for sending them money to different locations ( embellselment and help sending money to certain terroist group around the world) or they will with draw and take everything you have in you bank account. THere is nothing really your police department can do, Federal Reserve can do nor you bank because It was not Federal Reserve Bank to begin with we are a private intety a Bank only for Banks and Credit Unions we do not call individual in the public or give money, grants, or harass individuals for money or account information nor do we ask people to Western Union Money to us? You can call the police and report but they can not get you money back either because these people are located in another country they are very hard to find and arrest. THey are a an White collar organized crime that the FBI has on their radar. These cons can call you from phone, they can email you and send you checks in the mail that are fraud, they can be on craigslist, chat lines. I have gotten alot of calls from people who called the Federal Reserve Bank too late to verify if it us and they already fell into the trap, my heart goes out to them because alot of them are elderaly or some in desperate hope want to believe that their life could be so much better with this grant, Also a scam that Obama is going to send money to buy car or home, or you won sweepstakes money to pay off their mortgage or loan that they fall for it. Sometimes they can fall prey to Identity theft, get all of their life saving they worked hard for taken from them, and oor in legal trouble for accidentally helping these cons wire stolen money into secret account at Foriegn Banks, Promising to pay them back or promising them lots of money. I am thankful for the people though that do call because either I can tell them the truth and prevent them from giving them any further info and stop answering their phone calls, excepting money ( if check my advice shred it i did because a family fell for a job on craigslist that they send a check and want you to deposit it and risk you getting in trouble because will they help you out of a legal bind, NO they will just move on to the next vulnerable american that is struggling to make ends meet or even cannot find a job) But the person most likely excepting the check has no idea it is illegal what they are doing. I had a caller a poor elderly lady she sounded so sweet and she had this young man that was texting her on a chat line and he was telling her that he lost his business and him and his son are living in a car and he needs help if she could wrire him money to get his business back up for his family and he promises her he will repay her and in her gentle giving soul she wired him money for years to every account he asked (germany Europe, phillipeanes wherever?) and now she is getting contacted by FBI and is saying she has to fill out a Anti Terroist form (she was searching how to find this) stating she had no idea she was actually funding a terrorist group (she was told by FBI) and no she never got a penny back and was trying to help but actually hurt because little did she know it was going to a bad cause. I feel sad because there are also people with illneses, mental disabilities, dementia and or alteimers victems as well it is just so sad. But if you can be educated before it happens it can save you alot of loss and troubles. I hope as many people can be made aware of this and to know to never give people you information especially if you don't have more background of the person, organiztion or company. Googles scams and writ as much key pints as you can of what they are asking you to do, resear the phone # look up the companies number and call and ask directly if it is really them who is calling you. Of course the scammer is going to lie to you that is how they profit thats what they live and breathe for how to scam people. They call from different numbers and different people and they probably will have a accent. Remeber this is not the only number they call from so search every caller who calls you and google what they are asking you to do or search on youtube or look on FBI site because most likely someone has already wrote about thier experience.. Never give money to recieve money and if it sound to good to be true or if it just does not seem right your gut is ussually right.
