If you do not recognize the number do not pick up the phone. If it is important they will leave a message. I you answer you are tell these piece of scum that the number is good and they then sell you number to other scumbags. Many times the call comes from outside the country and nothing absolutely nothing can be done to stop them, except DO NOT PICK UP THE PHONE. As soon as you catch onto a number they will reroute through another number.
These people want to charge you $840 to negotiate a better interest rate on your credit card. They pose as the financial instituation and tell you that they want to give you a better rate because they are losing customers to other companies with lower rates. Then they try to get every piece of personal information from you that they can. Social Security number, date of birth, mother's maiden name, address, etc. Do not answer this call!! When you do not comply with them they threaten to send the "account" to collections. The other number that comes up on the phone associated with this group is 304-873-2230. If you pick up the phone and select either option (1 or 2) they know they have a good number and call over and over again. They are thieves.
