No name on the caller ID - just the number. They'll tell you they're not selling anything and that they're just conducting a short survey about air quality. Taking this "survey" will result in a sales call a few days later, attempting to set up an in-home "demonstration" of some great $1,000 air purifier that no home should be without. Of course, there's "no obligation to buy anything". Unless you want the guy to actually leave your house. Told them I knew the scam and to take my number off of their list lest I call the state attorney general on them. It's the second time they've called in a week, so we'll see how that goes.

Number (only) appeared in Caller ID this evening. Answered the phone and person w/thick Asian accent said/asked, "Hello. Is this Mark?" I said, "Yes." Caller then said he was with "Advanced Solutions" and immediately asked something like, "So, how would you rate the air quality in your area?" I told him, "No solicitations," then promptly hung-up. Thank you, Larry, for your insight at the top of this thread.
Same experience as Dilligaf---I don't pick up; they don't leave a message. Thx to Mark & Larry for detailing why I shouldn't feel bad about hanging up on them---if I'm ever absentminded enough to pick up when Caller ID says "unknown name." ;-)
