Called left very quick message about Notice of Intent against me. called number back at 855-670-8405 and got another very quick message from icnr, inc.
These people call about old zombie debit that has been written off by the original debtor, debt that is past the statute of limitations. They threaten you with lawsuits, say they will attach your bank accounts and your property and claim to be a law firm. Don't be taken in by their claims. They are a scam operation. Once a debt has past they statute of limitations, they can do nothing to collect UNLESS you admit to the debt or pay them. Don't even pay them $1 -- it puts the statute of limitations back into play. Best to ignore these calls. Maybe they will find some other way and make an honest living instead of buying up old debt that belonged to your long ago dead relatives. My family sent me an e-mail regarding a call from that my ex-wife received from this company (I.M & R). The person that left a message stated that her name was Alicia Pate. The voice message was recorded and sent on to me and in this message there is what sounds to be a 20 year old girl doing her best to sound professional and intelligent who claims to be in possession of a "key" regarding "assets" of mine and that if I want to "reclaim" them then I need to get into contact with her company asap.
Whoever trained this girl needs to explain what fraudulent misrepresentation means. Evidently she told my ex-wife that she has the authority to ask personal questions regarding "legal matters" and that she works as a "Mediator", not a collection agent.
The biggest mystery is how this girl went about getting my ex-wife's cell phone # as that information is nowhere on public record.
Thank you so much for posting this--I've worked hard to eradicate debt accrued in my early 20s, & the message left scared me...although I can usually spot a scam, this collector asked to speak to my "legal council" & left a first and last name (pretty atypical). Thank you for reminding me that this is yet another scam attempt to collect dead debt--don't even know how they got my cell number...
