I spoke with this collection agency and told them that I paid the bill already.  The guy was kinda cool, and said that you had to send some sign of proof that I paid.  Luckily I had the paid letter available.  As soon as I sent it to them, he closed the matter and apologized.  Maybe all collection agencies aren't bad.

I had a similar experience.  They do seem to be good people.  Surprising in that industry with all the scummy tactics.
