i just got a call at 5 in the morning today from "June Jordan". they were asking me for my date of birth and weird information. saying that cops are going to come to my house at 11 in the morning tomorrow. and they also said they were from the cyber crime unit..
Just got a voicemail from them. They said my life was going to be chaos and they'd beat the hell out of me if I didn't call them back. I'm keeping the voicemail and reporting them to the FCC.
My son was threatened by this caller. They too sounded middle eastern - hard to understand due to bad connection. They scared my son who does have an outstanding amt owed to an online lender. He was told they are taking him to court if he did not pay immediately and then he would also have to pay $4000 in legal fees in addition to $748 he owes. My son called me all upset so I told him I would pay it. They offered a "deal" if I paid in full of "only" having to pay $548. I thought this was a good deal saving my son $200 so I gave them my debit card info. I checked my bank account and sure enough there is a pending debit amount payable to Scott V Boruta, PA - Tampa, FL in the amt of $548. I went ahead and made supper, did dishes, etc but the entire time I've had a bad feeling about this transaction so I came online to do some research. Thus, how I found this website. Now I feel totally STUPID. I'll be contacting my bank first thing in the morning to see if I can stop the debit. Hopefully I can. If I can't I hope the bank will understand my situation and help me. Don't be STUPID like me...do your research.
