Got a call today from 425-939-1102 asking for my daughter. The lady's name was Amanda and she said she was with Evergreen. She would not say what it was about...said it was related to a "business matter" and that she got my name off of an application. Since my daughter is heavily in debt with several credit card companies, I assume this call was related to that and they were trying to obtain information on her to pursue collection.
My husband received a message on his mobile phone from a man named Mr. Williams asking him to call him at 425-939-1102. He said it was urgent. My husband called him back and "MR. Williams" said that he was trying to collect on a debt that my husband doesn't even have. The man said the debt had been turned over to him but he could not give a name of a company and had no idea what the debt was. He asked for very personal info regarding address, social security number, etc...My husband asked him to send proof of debt to our residence. We are waiting to receive something but I have a pretty good feeling this guy was trying to scam us. I, myself, called the number and the man answered the phone "Mr. Williams". Since when do legitimate companies just answer the phone like that? Also, if it's a legitimate debt collector/agency, don't they usually have 800 numbers for you to return a call?

I got a call from these number too but they said it was urgent, and if it was they would send something. At the end of the call the man told me "make sure your parents get this message, and tell them to call me back, because I don't want to track him down." He said my dad worked at some nail shop that I never even heard of. Funny thing is he doesn't work at a nail shop, so I said ok good luck tracking my dad down, I'll track you down myself, and so I did. :]
