Recorded voice promoting "Medical Emergency Alert System." I've had this call several times, spoke with the operator and was guaranteed each time that my number was being removed. Spoke with operator again today, was told to renew my "do not call" status and he told me that "this is a recorded line" (as if that matters if no one with any scruples is going to listen) and that my number was being removed. He hung up. I called back and by some miracle the phone worked. Operator would not comply with my request for their address. I spoke with supervisor, said they were in florida and were not obligated to give their address. I told him that he is obligated to follow the "do not call" laws and that I have had multiple assurances that my number was removed--multiple violations of federal law. I wish the FTC would take these things seriously.
Standard sort of scam, preying on the elderly. Try to sell 'something you wear' in case of emergency. Rule of thumb. Any phone call from a number you don't recognize is most likely a scam of some sort.

Rang just 3 times before stopping. Caller ID said "Help". More crap from stupid telemarketers. One level of HELL is reserved for these people. Do Not Call list is a waste of time.

Rang 3 times, then disconnected, so my recorder did not receive their spiel.
I tend to agree with others' statements about the ineffectivity of the Do Not Call list. That organization keeps a lot of statistics, and probably employs a large number of people, but has no teeth.
