Have received more than one csll from this number. Do not pick it up. No message. Research online says its a scam of some sort. Am on Do Not Call Registry so this is curious.
Caller identifies self as DEA agent and advises that person answering has purchased drugs illegally over the Internet and a warrant will be issued for arrest unless fine is paid via wire service to agents in Dominican republic. SCm
This idiot literally scared me to death! I was shaking and crying and had to pull over on the side of the road to talk. He talks truly hardcore -- sounds realistic -- I even asked him if this was a scam -- and he made me believe it was not. It was the EXACT same scenario as the other post from "PW." And even though I knew, without a doubt, that I had not done this he had me terrified of being taken away from my family if I did not send him money. Thank God for my husband! When I called him crying, he called the REAL DEA and they said this is a known scam that has been going on for a while.
They called me today and I was so scared. I am so glad it was not true. I know I didn't order anything but he made me believe I had no choice but to pay or go to jail 5-10 yrs.
I got a call from "James Smithers" or "James Miller", a "DEA" agent scamming for $4600 cash at the Western Union or they'd arrest me today. On the "other" line was "David Stone" from the Dom Repub, "US Customs & Border Patrol".
