Its so funny i get a big kick out of it i quiz them asking them do they work for US government ..knowing the IRS is a private organization..and they have accents ..yeah the irs is going to hire overseas people to do their taxes...
It was a little funny after I finally pulled myself together and thought "I never had to call this area code for the IRS nor have I ever had an individual(the same one every time) answer the phone when I called back.
Stupid IRS scam. I baited to see how far they would go by listening to what they had to say. If I didn't know better, I could understand why people believe them. Give out badge ids and say they will be punished if they threaten you, etc. then said they were going to take me to court. I said okay, what's my court case number, and what courthouse. Hung up on me at that point lol. Glad I wasted their time some. I'm sure they will call back as the number has been on my caller ID for days.
