This comes up on my caller ID as (Local Call back) but has a 440 area code... Odd.
& somebody on the other end claims to be from Missing Children's hotline asking for a tax deductible pledge.
I told her I didn't have the finances set aside (That's true! I am going to college now)
Yet she still persisted!
I received a call from these people claiming to be part of a Missing Childrens Hotline. He also stated he was in Georgia. When the call came up on my caller id it said "Ohio Call" . He called me by my whole name and I preceded to tell him My number is on the do not call list. He stated he works for a non profit organization and that the national do not call registry did not pertain to him. I told him "well now it does so don't call me anymore thank you and goodbye"
I've been receiving calls from this number for over a month now. They will not leave a message, it comes up as a local 440 call, & they're on to the fact that 4 rings & my machine picks up, so they hang up after the 3rd ring. At my old home I used to get the same number call. The first time it was a "missing children" charity, the 2nd time it was for "injured/disabled vets". Needless to say, it's solicitation for "charity". But they are VERY PUSHY & won't take NO for an answer! Don't even pick the phone up!
I didn't pick up this call and they didn't leave a message. My Caller ID said "Local Call back" as well. Honestly, I googled it just because I thought it was somebody I knew and I just couldn't put my finger on it. Guess I was wrong. I didn't have to deal with the hassle of actually picking up the call. And now, thanks to these reports here I will make sure I don't the next time. I have no fear of pushy solicitors...I simply hang up. I'm also on the do-not-call list...guess that doesn't mean a whole lot to these people. Nor the other 5-10 callers I get a day.
