Correction: I hung up too fast. Its not time-shares, its the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints (Mormons) offering some of their materials. So in addition of knocking on your door, they are now telemarketing too! A "friend" finally confessed that he gave them my name and number.
It is not a telemarketing service or anything. What it is, is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint Missionaries who are serving their Mission in the Kirtland, OH area. Most likely if you or a family member rather you are a member of the Church or just visiting the area to find out the history of the church etc. the Missionaries who gives tours of the sites will give you a comment card to fill out at the end of the tour. There is a part on the card where you can put your number or someones number that you may think might be interested in learning about the Mormon Church. I know this because I am a member of the Church and went up there with a group from the Augusta, GA area and I contacted all of my friends and they got the same call.
Long story short its just Missionaries trying to see if you may have any referals to them on who might be interested in the Church. Besides they called me today 21/1/2011 at 1949 (749pm) and I visited the Kirtland Area July 17-18 of 2010.
