They left a message on my machine stating they were "Decision Point Consulting" and they wanted the lady of the house to come to a meeting and take part in a market research "discussion". They offered to pay $75.00 for participation in this 2-hour "discussion". The caller ID displayed "OHIO" when they called.

I wouldn't do this. Also, I NEVER answer any of these calls, nor do I leave my answering machine on anymore. Anytime you (or your answering machine) answers one of these "unknown" calls, all you are doing is confirming that they have reached a viable, working number and they WILL continue to call you, plus they will sell your number to other scumbags to use also. IF they call too often our phone service has a "call blocking" service that allows us to block any of these calls so they no longer ring through. By not answering these calls in any way I have cut down considerably on the number of these calls I have gotten. In the last week I have have probably gotten 3 or 4 at most as compared to 6 or 8 or more "per day" a year ago. It will take time, but this method seems to work for me.
What do you suppose would happen if NO ONE ever answered any of these calls? Would they finally give up and go out of business? By your answering their calls you are keeping them in business. Think about it.
Same number but they tried to identify themselves as a landscaping company that bought something from us. They could not identify the part for me and hung up. Same number from OHIO 440-263-5362.
