Call from this number saying that they are collecting money for cops for kids in Painesville. Called number back phone is not in service. Is this a scam or not?
We were advised today that a solicitor has been calling, claiming they are raising money for us under Cops4Kids, the number is 440-281-8887. When you call the number it shows disconnected.
We are not soliciting for this, it is a scam. We are investigating and will hopefully put this "person" in jail where he belongs. If you ever receive any calls for donations on behalf of the Painesville Police and are suspicious, please call me at 440-392-5826. You can even call me for any agency soliciting in Lake County and I will find out for you.
*** Just got an additional number this fine citizen is using (and I use that term loosely) it is 440-639-0520, again it shows disconnected. To whoever this is, we are going to get you!!!
