Probable scam. I picked up because I have family members in the Cleveland area. An older male said "hello?" as if he was surprised that I picked up. He stated that he was calling on behalf of the Disabled Police fund, who have been injured in the line of duty. I asked if he could please mail me information on the fund. He stated that they don't generally mail things out until I make a pledge. That was my first red flag, as I've never had a non-profit decline to send me information first. He told me that their pledge levels were $100, 75, 50, and 25, and that they would send a thank you for donating letter with an envelope in which to mail my cheque (note that he did not offer a receipt for my donation, which could be used for my taxes). I explained that money is a little tight and that I want to check my finances and look at their website first. He offered a $15 pledge level. I asked him for the website address. He told me to have a nice day and hung up. Seems like a scam.
