This number is used by Global Readers Services - a company that makes money by calling and tricking people into renewing a magazine subscription. After phone conversation you realize the subscription is not expiring for another year or more and they are charging more than the original and"official" subscription agency does. If you try to cancel they say okay but they will have to charge a $15 cancellation fee. If you refuse they threaten to turn you into the collection agency.
They took my ailing 91 year old father with dementia for $99. His subscriptions were already good through 2014....far beyond his life expectancy. He dearly needed that money for his daily living expenses.
i think they have gotten better. i thought i subscribed for a year but when the bill came it was for 3 years. I was able to call them and cancell the other 11 payments, but couldnt get a refund. i still wouldnt trust them, but it seems these posts are getting to them. or maybe i was just extremely lucky.
