Scam scam scam. If it was a real legal matter i would be notified by certified mail from the courts. I call bs! How stupid would i be to believe this could be handled over the phone ? Criminal case my a$$
If you receive a call from this number it is an absolute scam. The person who calls will threaten you with legal action if you don't make a payment within hours. She claims her name is Dana Clark and she is calling from the Federal Law Office of Financial Regulations. I looked up the Federal Law Office of Financial Regulations and it does not exist. EVERY Federal Office can be found online. I further pressed Ms. Clark for additional information about their office, her contact information and the contact information for the Attorney she works for. She refused to send me information regarding the matter via mail or in any other form other than email. Coincidentally, using mail service to facilitate this scam would be a crime. Their game is to scare poor consumers into voluntarily sending them money. They won't take your credit card over the phone or any banking information. This way, you are voluntarily sending them money without a paper trail.
She directed me to a Harris County office in Houston, TX and the Economic Crimes Unit so I called Harris County at (713) 755-5000. There is NO Economic Crimes Unit in Harris County. Further, Harris County has never even heard of the Attorney, Kelly Hendricks she claims to work for nor Dana Clarke. Additionally, why would she have a Cleveland, OH phone number if she was in fact calling from Houston, TX. Any legitimate business or Government Office would freely provide a consumer with all of the information they need to vet who they are working with.
When I called Ms. Clarke back explaining that Harris County in Houston has never heard of her nor Kelly Hendricks, she became angry, refused to speak to me, told me not to call this number anymore and hung up.
There is NO Federal Law Office of Financial Regulation.
Dana Clark does NOT work in Harris County nor have they ever heard of her.
Kelly Hendricks is NOT an Attorney for the Economic Crimes Unit in Harris County, not have they ever heard of Kelly Hendricks.
