I think this may happen when you give your number to a money perimid to participate in. or in some cases, if your phone number is stored in someones website and their info is stolen and then used in scams.
I know that one time I left my number at an oil change shop and shortly after that i started to get phone calls about auto insurance. eaither the shop sells the number or they use it by sharing it with other businesses or something like that. becareful who you give your number to.
Call was completely in Spanish, then they hung up. One of those typical computer generated calls. Unfortunately I don't know Spanish so I was unable to translate.
All I hope is that they paid long distance rates. I was a complete waste of time for them.
yeah i got a call but i know spanish an it was about a $1000 dollar prize and it asked if u wanna claim the prize press 1 and i did and it said pleas wait for the next agent and all i got was a dead dial tone
received the same call three times today - finally answered and it was all in spanish. pressed zero and got someone who spoke spanish - asked to be removed from their list (in English - i don't know spanish) and the call was disconnected. My number is on the DNC list.
I recieved a call on my pre-paid AT&T cell phone from the same number. I wonder is it just a way for get us to use more minutes on our cell phones. Just a thought!
