I got this call earlier today, and even though I usually don't answer numbers I don't recognize, it' looks like it's from the town where I live, so I answered. A young woman started out by saying that she worked for a security company that is supposedly giving away five free security systems. She also said that they are helping customers go wireless so thieves can't cut your telephone lines. I tried to interrupt and say that I live in an apartment building, but she wouldn't stop until she had said what she had to say, and then asked if I were a homeowner interested in receiving a free home security system. I said no, and she repeated the question slowly and deliberately; that's when I caught on, and said "I live in an apartment building and this is a scam, don't call back!" and disconnected. This call was received on my cell phone.
