Incredibly garbled voice mail. eventually realized the call was not intended for me at all. Trying to serve papers on someone. I tried to call the number to let them know they had the wrong number, and automated voice says " there is no route number for your call"

Same as above - a mumbled message about them trying to serve papers on someone (same last name as my wife, but the first name was wrong) and gave a case number.
almost same thing- process server...did get back with a Mr Pittman...he informed me that he had nothing on the info that was left on my voicemail. After informing him that the message left was unsettling to the point I left work in order to find out who was trying to serve 'me'...he was so rude, I asked to speak to his supervisor (after he would not tell me the name of the company)he informed me his supervisor was God, and God was not there. He went on to imply I had such a low paying job, that I didn't loose much, and hung up on me.
I'm sorry this scammer stressed you out so much. Rest assured, it IS a scam. NO process server is going to call you in advance; you could hide if you knew they were coming. And you can't buy your way out of a summons, either, which is what they will claim if you speak to them. My advice is to block the number or at the very least, ignore them when they call.
Message was left for my son, then a "process server" called stating they were going to try to serve him papers at home within a two hour window and if they couldn't reach him there, they would go to his job and if they couldn't reach him there, then it would be a non compliance and he would miss his court date.... Said to call the originating party at 443-282-1161 and gave a case number....
