Someone is "spoofing" your phone, they use this number to disguise their phone number, you can purchase these cards and minutes online, I understand it is quite common, they may even provide subscibers with these actual numbers to use.
I got the same call and they told me that they would be in my area and wanted to know if I would leave anything as a donation for them to pick up. I was surprised since I live in a military installation, so I asked them if they could get into Andrews. She hung up. I tried to call back and got a voice mail box. Anyone know who they are?
It may be National Children's Center Donor Services or Purple Heart. They both pick up used clothing, household goods etc. Usually a person's name shows up on the ID.
I have been lately receiving more than my share of such calls, including, unknown, out of area, or a recording asking me to press 1 to speak with an agent, or press 2 to take my name of the call list. etc..
I am beginning to think they are 'fronts' for harassing calls, someone is using 3 way call and disguising THEIR number through these reported numbers. Do you think this is possible ? Ask yourself if you have recently ended a relationship, or if you have teenagers at home. This may be the source.
