JustinCase you are so right about that! I turned off my answering machine a few years ago and let these stupid calls ring off the hook. Scam calls have diminished greatly. It takes time but the amount of junk calls I get now is much less then 5 years ago. If a call comes in from a family member or friends and I'm not home, then I just check my caller ID and call them back. But NEVER call back any missed calls if you don't know who the caller is or at least google the phone number first.
Call on my cell--answered thinking it was an expected Baltimore area caller. Hung up after hearing start of pre-recorded message:" Herllo this is Lisa..."
Caller was from GE Home Security. Some kind of automated, recognition system that asked if I can hear him ok. I didn't want to answer yes because that could be nefariously used as a 'yes' a charge to my account or something like that.
