Got into a shouting match with one of these people today. It didn't accomplish much, but I could tell I pissed him off because he kept calling back leaving me voicemails asking why I hung up on him. Not sure how they got my cell phone number but it's REALLY annoying to have solicitors call constantly. Apparently it's on a list, because there are several companies callig trying to sell me everything from a new mattress to NASCAR tickets.
I have received numerous calls just like this from many different telephone numbers and area codes.
Be Careful it is a SCAM. DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY.
The callers proclaim to be FDA (Food & Drug Administration) Special Agents... They ALL have very heavy Spanish acccents.
They ALL claim to have intercepted a package containing Vicodin or some other drug purchased over the internet with your name on it and if you don't wire transfer money to them via Western Union within 24 to 48 hours to some bougus person(s) in The Dominican Republic, they will send a FDA S.W.A.T Team to come and arrest you... The FDA does not have a S.W.A.T. Team...
Of course I did not fall for this, but instead I kept them calling me back for about 10 days just to piss them off... I kept telling them the money was on its way or my mother deperately needed an operation, etc... Ha Ha Ha
You can call your Regional FDA Office and let them know of this SCAM and the will follow up with it.
I guess someone is sending them money otherwise why would they keep doing it right?
WHEN THEY CALL JUST KEEP HANGING UP ON THEM. THEY WILL STOP CALLING AFTER A FEW DAYS.
