This was amazing. Same standard "lower your credit" spiel to scam you out of your credit card numbers to run unauthorized charges, but the entire thing was automated voice-response to a computer-generated voice.
They aren't even paying for slave phone labor any more.
The call was to a cell phone, during dinner, no good option to opt out, no person to harass or talk into getting a new job that doesn't involve breaking federal laws working for criminals. (On the do not call list, automated robocall to cell phone, no option to opt out given in the fifteen seconds, no callback number to reliably opt out. The only valid thing about the call is that apparently the Caller ID number was not spoofed.)
Basically, it prompts you into answering the standard script, coaxing you into entering your credit card numbers, expiration dates, your final four digits of your social security number, your zip code, and your name--all of the things needed to pretend they are you and co-opt your accounts. Then you are informed that an account manager will call you back.
I gave all fake info, and do not expect any account managers to bother to call. Although I wouldn't have expected any account managers to bother to call even if I had given real info.
Do not give any valid info whatsoever to anyone calling from this number.
May the [***] running this scam have both his legs broken. Maybe an arm too.
