I rec'd a call this number today Jan 25, 2012 at 12:01 PM PST. I live in Woodland Hills, CA. It was an automated message in French. I didn't understand it. I kept pressing buttons until I could speak to someone and again it was a woman. I asked her if she understood English she said yes, but then when I tried to speak to her she didn't understand. I then in Spanish told her I didn't speak French and only a little Spanish and told her to stop calling me. She h/u. I called back several times and got different people each who h/u on me until finally no one would answer the phone at all. I called back again and finally got someone on the phone who spoke English and the woman claimed that they are a day care facility in Montreal, Canada and that a man had called in looking for day care for his child and gave them my number. I'm a bit skeptical because I've been getting a lot of fraudulent calls, but I will hold off on reporting the number to the DNCL at least for now as long as I don't get another call from this number.
I have also been receiving calls from another number 302-861-8989. http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-302-861-8989/5 where the automated message is in Spanish. I've received calls from that number on three separeat occassions: Jan 13, 2012 8:52am PST, Jan 14, 2012 @ 10:42am PST, and a call this morning January 25, 2012 @ 8:12am PST. On all 3 calls the automated message was in Spanish, I pressed 1 to speak to someone and asked if they understood English, the woman said no and h/u. I tried to call the number back and got the same recording "The number you have dialed is unallocated."
I also received a call toon Jan 14, 2012 @ 4:09pm from 805-995-4454: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-805-995-4454; which was also an automated call stating they could lower my auto insurance and then disconnected. I called back 3 times. 2 times I was transferred to a v-mail and asked to leave a message. The 3rd time I was transferred to a man who stated they were with E&O Insurance. I told him he was a fraud and he got mad. I told him I was on the Do Not Call list and he ignored that. My phone died in the middle of the call.
I don't know if all of these calls are linked or not.
