This number calls students whose parent or parents took out a student loan for their child. I quickly said the 22-year-old they were calling about is not who took out the student loan, that it was a parental loan, that I was recording the call and sending it to the State Attorney General.
Callback leads to "you have reached an unassigned number". That message itself has the characteristics of being fake, in the way that it repeats constantly, so the number may be real with a fake error message, or the message may be real with a spoofed caller ID. Either way, this is obviously scammers at work.
